Treasuring the Present: Happy Birthday to Lexie!

Happy Birthday to my SWEET GIRL, Lexington Lee Sanden Miller -- LEXIE!

To be honest, I don't know Lexie's birthday.  She was born in Lexington, VA around the Washington and Lee University sorority houses.  I met Lexie around June 6, 2008 when I was in Lexington for W&L's graduation.  When I took her to a vet about five days later, she was estimated to be about five weeks old.  I then calculated that Lexie's birthday is around May 1.

Today, she is four years old.

Lexie was hand-chosen for me by the Lord -- visit here to read the whole story.

The vet calls her "Motor Boat" because she never stops purring.  I call her "Sweet Girl" because she absolutely is!  She grew into a cuddle bug soon after she and I figured out how to live together and love one another in Nashville nearly four years ago.  We both had so much to learn, and we fell in love with each other.

There have been many changes for us in these four years, but this little girl has snuggled with me me every morning and greeted me at the door every day.

She is my beautiful sweet girl who was less than 1.5lbs when I found her... and even now, she's only 7.5lbs.  It kind of freaks me out that I could (eventually) give birth to a baby larger than she is.

Happy Birthday, my Sweet Girl.  You are the best little girl in my life!

Here are some snapshots of Lexie over time:

Playing with Gammie on Lexie's first trip to Michigan

So playful and curious -- at six weeks of age

She's Gammie's little princess!

My mom and daddy (Lexie's Gammie and Papa) love Lexie -- they don't think they're cat people, but they LOVE Lexie!

Lexie keeps Lloyd in line... like a good big sister

I think this is one of the first pictures I have Chris holding Lexie... and we're engaged

Our beautiful family

She still loves to play!

 What a beauty!

"What do you think you're doing, Bro?"

She's still my sweet girl!

Isn't she gorgeous?  She steels my heart every day!

Happy Birthday, Lex!

Thank you, Lord for trusting us with your beautiful, loving kitten.
