New Diet

I've been needing a new diet with this crazy school-working mom schedule and I think this might fit the bill.

Prince

While Tracey, Howard, and Caroline were painting:

Caroline:  *Something I can't understand*
Me: I don't know what you said, Sweetie.
Tracey:  She's painting a princess.

A few minutes later Howard starts painting his hands...

Howard:  I want to make a prince hand.
Me:  Oh, you want to make a hand print?  Sure, you can do that.
Howard:  Yeah, a hand prince.
Tracey:  I want to make a hand prince.
Caroline:  Me too.  A hand prince.

Youngest

I love the relationship my big kids are creating with their youngest sister.  It warms my heart to watch them together.

Tracey's Pics

Tracey has been enjoying my camera any chance she can get her hands on it...

FYI... any red you might see in the below pictures on faces or on clothing is from marker... not blood.

Here are some gems from Tracey's photography skills...

Lee Lee Pictures

A friend of ours took professional pictures of mothers and babies during world breastfeeding awareness month.  The breastfeeding pictures were fine, but these are my favorites:

Addallee Marigold -- Ten Months

Addallee is ten months old... just yesterday.  Yay!

Here is Addallee at seven months:

Here she is at four months...

And two months...

and as a sweet newborn.

And here was Howard and Caroline at ten months:

And here was Tracey at ten months:

Weight:
At her nine months appointment a few weeks ago, she was 17.2 pounds.

Length:
At the same apointment, she was 2'2'' -- so 26" total.  She's our shortest little one for this age... maybe she will actually take after me in terms of height because it looks like our other three kids are inheriting Hubby's height.

Clothing size:
She wears mostly 9 month clothes... but she also wears 12 month clothes as need, and 2T as needed if those are the clothes.  I don't squeeze her into anything that's too small -- but there is no size too big if it meets the appropriate clothing for the temperature and is clean, she is put in many sizes of clothing.

Eating:   This child does not miss a meal.  She also doen't just want the food on her plate, she wants the food on everyone else's plate in case they are getting something better or different than what she was served.  She has learned that the twins get a piece of candy for trying to go potty and Tracey gets a piece of candy for saying her sight words, and she makes sure she gathers in the huddle of her siblings when we're passing out candy and she gets very upset when she is not given a piece.

Sleeping:
She is getting better about sleeping through the night again after our summer travels ended.  We have become very routine about the time she goes to bed -- between 7-7:30 every day (sometimes earlier if she's exhausted) and she usually goes down without any fuss.  On great nights she sleeps from 7:00pm-4:00am and then goes back to sleep until 7 or 7:30 after her 4am feeding.  On rough nights, she is up a few times at midnight and 2am.

New things/discoveries/accomplishments:
  • She pulls herself up to a standing position
  • She can push toys while she's standing, slowly, but in control
  • She waves at people -- especially children and her siblings
  • She kicks her legs when we take attendance in the car, when we say her name
  • She vocalizes whenever I'm singing

Likes:
  • Attention from her siblings
  • Being around any activity
  • Pushing push toys while watching
  • Pacifiers
  • Nursing
  • Solid food
  • Her siblings
  • Water
  • Swinging

Dislikes:
  • Not being allowed to eat what everyone else is eating
  • Having her diaper changed in the middle of the night

  Places She's Gone:
  • Camping
  • To the rodeo
  • Mama worked full time (plus) for two weeks while Grammie and Papa watched the kids all day every day.

Special Memories
  •  Getting mother daughter pictures taken for breastfeeding awareness month
  • Taking her camping for the first time -- we took Tracey camping at a similar age, and Addallee was so much easier in a crib (in a camper) than Tracey was in our sleeping bag in a two-man tent.  We are definitely a camper family.
  • Celebrating Grammie's birthday
  • Hiking as a family while camping
  • Picking peaches together

Nicknames:
  • Addallee Marigold
  • Lee Lee
  • Baby Marigold (Caroline's name for her)
  • Marigold
  • Ada (Tracey occasionally calls her this)
  • Baba (Howard calls her this)
