Dr. Miller

Yesterday Tracey opened a veterinary clinic in our kitchen and sewed up every stuffed animal with a hole in it she could find.

She wore a surgical mask while performing her surgeries and wrote notes following the surgery.

"Otter had surgery.

Fixed him.

Otter woke up.

Otter was happy."

When I took a video of Dr. Miller performing her surgery, she informed me that it had to be quiet while she performed surgery.

Healed Fingers

When we have raspberries, Lee Lee puts five raspberries on the tips of her fingers and says,

"I have blood fingers!"

Then, she eats one and holds up her hands again and says,

"God healed one!"

Then Hunter tries to copy her.

Daddy Daughter BALL 2022

Hubby's grandfather passed away recently, so we took our crew to St. Louis last week to spend time with his family and attend the visitation, funeral, and graveside services.

The visitation was supposed to be Thursday night and then funeral and graveside service on Friday, but St. Louis had an ice storm on Thursday so the visitation was pushed to Friday.

Friday was a long day.  Visitation in the morning leading right into the funeral, and then the graveside services.  Following the graveside service, Hubby and I re-loaded the car (we were there 3 days... hardly worth unloading the car), and then had a dinner gathering with Hubby's immediate family (8 adults and 13 children).  It might have been nice to spend Friday night before heading home over the weekend... but we hit the road after dinner Friday night... because, as my parents put it, all three of our girls had Saturday night dates!

The DADDY DAUGHTER BALL was Saturday night!

Tracey and Caroline have attended two Daddy Daughter Balls previously in 2019, and 2020.  There was no Ball in 2021 due to COVID, so this ball was a big deal.  It was Lee Lee's FIRST Daddy Daughter Ball EVER, and Tracey and Caroline's first one after a year without one.

Hubby was NOT going to miss this event with his princesses.

We got home at noon, and after a quick cat nap, Hubby and his princesses were on their way to dinner and the ball a few hours later.

It Was 2s Day!

 Yesterday was 2s Day!

You know -- 2/22/22...

AND we had a 2nd grader on 2s day!

We also had a dance party at 2:22pm!

This Weekend

The noteworthy things I did not accomplish this weekend:

I did not fully unpack from St.Louis.

I did not fold or put away any of the laundry I washed and dried.

I did not get our basement (now a guest room) ready for my in-laws who are arriving on Thursday.

I did not cook my children any dinners from scratch (I fed them... just leftovers).

I did not catch up on work from our week spent in St. Louis.

The noteworthy things I did accomplish this weekend:

This 750 piece puzzle.

And it felt AMAZING!

The Best

I have the best mini Valentine's any Mama and Wifey could ask for!

Hubby's grandfather passed away and originally we thought we were going to have to leave for St. Louis last weekend, which would have meant the kiddos would miss their school Valentine's parties.  Certainly not the end of the world -- but to our children, they were heartbroken.

Well, the service is not until the end of this week, so we were SO happy that they were able to attend the school parties with their friends and then leave for St. Louis later that same day.

Obviously

I'm not sure who took this picture... but obviously Caroline was not in the mood.

Olypics Day!

Last week our big kids had Olympics Day at school.

Tracey and Caroline were figure skaters, Howard and Lee Lee wore red, right, and blue, and Hunter and Brady were just their adorable American-loving selves.
