Happy Halloween 2017!

Happy Halloween from our wonderful bunch.

Painting pumpkins seemed like the best option for this year given that I was the only adult supervising our four children at the time.

I am totally in love with our front door this Halloween.

This is Pablo the pumpkin.  Pablo belonged to my grandmother, then my parents... and now my parents have gifted him to our family and our children are so excited to have him.

This is how Addallee participated this year.

We are so excited for a really fun Halloween with our spirited little ones and excited to have my parents here to help us and enjoy the day's activities.

Addallee -- One Week

Addallee was one week old yesterday, so here are a few highlights from our first week with her.

Weight: She was 7lbs 7oz at birth, and 7lbs 2oz at her four day check up... so I image she is a little heavier than that now.

Length: She was 19 inches at birth and they measured her 20 inches at the pediatrician... so she is probably in between.

Clothing size: She is wearing newborn clothing, but I can tell she is a bigger baby than my other three because she will definitely be growing out of these faster than her older siblings.  They fit her well right now and are not too big.

Eating: She eats well throughout the day and night.  She probably eats every three hours, but I don't time it the way I did with the other newborns.  Sometimes she cluster feeds (like when I have a little more time) and then other times she goes a little longer between feedings (when her older siblings are being demanding).  Clearly she's already adapting to her role as the fourth child.

Sleeping:  She sleeps best in our bed... which is not where we want her to sleep, so we're trying to find a compromise where she sleeps well, but is not sleeping with us.

New things for Addallee

  • She is very loved by her older siblings
  • She has had her newborn pictures taken
  • She has dressed in her Halloween costume
  • She has visited a pumpkin patch
  • She has attended a church family Halloween party
  • She has been to Tracey, Howard, and Caroline's school
  • She has tagged along while I've taught a birthing class
  • She's been to the pediatrician
  • She has come home from the hospital
  • First bath with help from Tracey
  • She has had a very eventful first week

 Likes:

  • Sleeping
  • Eating
  • Pacifiers
  • Warm baths
  • Laying next to me
  • Being worn in a Moby wrap
  • Being nicely held by her older siblings

Dislikes:

  • Cold diaper wipes
  •  Delayed feedings
  • Being poked by her older siblings

Big events:

  • Having her newborn pictures taken... hopefully images to come soon
  • Adjusting to life, her family, her older siblings and her parents outside the womb
  • Probably the same list as "New Things"

Halloween Costumes

We had some fun this weekend letting our kids dress up on their Halloween costumes in preparation for Halloween.  We took them to a pumpkin patch and to a church Halloween Party and fun was had everywhere.

It is really hard to get a picture of four children as opposed to three children.

I tried snapping pictures at every activity we did... but the best pictures of the kids in their costumes occurred on our couch at home.

Behold our butterfly, bat, honeybee, and sweet pea.

40 Weeks

For the record, I did officially hit the 40-weeks pregnant milestone with Addallee before she was born later that day.  We even snapped a 40 week picture a few minutes after midnight right as Hubby and I were leaving for the hospital.

So... 38 weeks with Tracey, 36 weeks with the twins, 40 weeks with Addallee.

Also, Tracey was born 6lbs 13 oz
our Twins were 6lbs 9 oz and 6lbs  0oz
and Addallee was 7 lbs 7oz.

Some Pictures

Until we are more settled in our routine as a family of six, if I am able to post a blog each day, it's likely to just be a picture for awhile.  So, thanks for hanging with me in this time of transition, and I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Heading Home

Yesterday, we headed home from the hospital with Addallee and we're now really learning the ropes of four children under four years of age.
** FYI: we pronounce her name Add-uh-lee **

Here are some pictures of our heading home with Addallee... and then some picture of our heading home with our older three for fun comparisons.

Introducing

Introducing our family's  newest blessing, Addallee Marigold Miller.

She arrived October 22, on her due date at 11:26am after 14 hours of labor.  Hubby was an amazing support to me throughout.

She is 7 lbs, 7 oz, 19 inches long, and has been welcomed into the fold by her three older siblings.

Addallee and I are doing well and probably headed home today.

We are so thankful to God for these perfect blessings entrusted to us.
