Teamwork

They road their bikes to our mailbox 1.5 miles away and they rode their bikes home again (several hills involved)... but the real hard work was checking to see if there was any mail.

Home Birthday!

Here are pictures of Howard and Caroline's birthday at home!

The requested Cherry-Berry on a Cloud for their birthday cake and they opened presents from family, and their siblings, and from Mama and Daddy.  Howard, especially had a little test of character because we brought out about 8 presents from Caroline and one present for him.  He was initially pretty shocked, but he never said a word, and he watched her open her presents and was very happy for her, and he opened his one present and smiled and said Thank You.

What he didn't know was that his birthday present was hiding in the garage -- a brand new (REALLY NICE) bicycle.

I was really proud of how he handled those minutes of thinking he got one present while Caroline had a whole table full.  Deep down, he really is a good kid.

Swimming Birthday Party

Caroline made it very clear to us this year how much she hates to travel on her birthday.  It doesn't matter that she's always been around aunts and uncles and cousins for her birthday... she adamantly asked that she NOT spend this birthday in the car traveling.  She also wanted a birthday party with friends.

We did our best to make her birthday wishes come true.  We did our traveling before Christmas so there were NO car rides on her birthday.  And, we started the celebration last Friday, December 30th with a swimming birthday party with friends at the Vernal Rec Center.  The roads were icy but everyone who said they were going to come made it and we had a great time.

Happy Birthday (and New Year) Howard and Caroline!

Happy New Year and Happy 7th Birthday to our terrific Twins!

Caroline is still the sweetest most helpful little girl in the planet... until she's not. We've said it before and it holds incredibly true of our Sweet Caroline, "there once was a girl with a curl and when she was good she was very good, and when she was bad, she was horrid." Our Caroline is amazing and the absolute best big sister on the planet.
She loves school, cheerleading, dance and gymnastics, swimming, dolls, and her siblings.

Howard is such a fun seven-year-old boy. He really is incredibly sweet but the more he loves you, the more he will try to annoy you... and he loves the people in his life A LOT!
He is the most competitive child in the planet and loves every sport he has ever watched or played -- Boxing, Wrestling, Football, Basketball, Baseball, Swimming, Running, Golf, Skiing, and more, this kid wants to be the best at it all.

Having twins is the best. Caroline is much braver and confident because of Howard. Howard is more empathic and caring because of Caroline. They really make a great team. They are still in the same class at school and we love that they learn well in that setting.

Not Every Night

Well, that doesn't happen every night... which is one reason last night was AWESOME!

Happy Birthday H & C!

Wishing Howard and Caroline the Happiest of Birthdays!

I cannot believe my twins are SIX years old!  WOW!

I will do a more detailed post about them on facebook and in a few days on here, but I have to do this post in advance as we will be traveling back to Colorado on our twins' birthday... and hopefully we will be able to give them a special birthday given that we will be traveling AND it is National Holiday when many things are closed.

Take a look at this picture... I am only now realizing that Howard is standing on Caroline's foot while the picture is being taken.  If that doesn't sum up what Caroline has to deal with having a six-year-old twin brother, I don't know what does.  God Bless that Sweet Girl!

Dancing

Last night, in an effort to calm the kiddos down as they were getting ready for bed, I asked Alexa to play "The Prayer" by Josh Groban because this is one of the songs Hubby and I had friends perform at our wedding.  I started dancing with Hunter, and the next thing I knew, Howard and Caroline were dancing (together) to the music as well.

I don't knjow that it calmed everyone down before bed, but it was a great way to end the day!
