Two Wheel Riding

Sunday afternoon Tracey sat on a two-wheeled bicycle for the first time... and Monday afternoon, she was zipping around our neighborhood independently.

Obviously, it was a wonderfully proud moment for us to watch Tracey learning how to ride... but I will be honest, this was especially precious to me because I was the one running up and down the street holding the back of Tracey's bike.  Iw as was the one encouraging her and challenging her and motivating her to keep going... and I was the one to let go of that bicycle and watch her ride away.

It was a great moment as her mother!

Thank You!

We have been working on a big project the past two days -- learning big words like ESSENTIAL WORKERS and HEROS.

Long Walk

I'm not going to lie... with Tracey on roller skates the other day, this was a LONG walk.

The truth is, we've been trying to spot bears in our neighborhood -- as in going on a bear hunt.

So far, we have spotted three in our windows... and one in the entire rest of the neighborhood.

Not Like the Others

One of these things is not like the others...

I'm getting the impression that Lee Lee and Caroline wish there were more babies in our home for this quarantine.

Goin' On A Bear Hunt

I saw a post on facebook encouraging people to put teddy bears in their windows so kids can "Go on a bear hunt" and spot bears around the neighborhood.

We haven't see any other than the two we put in the windows but the kids are really excited about it.

The Feelings

This quote is so true... I don't always remember details of my life but I usually remember how I was feeling...

During this covid-19 time in history I feel fear.  Sometimes I'm hopeful, but mostly I am very worried, anxious, scared, and sad.

During this covid-19 time in history, while we have been honest with our children about "the virus" going around and that's why schools are closed and why we cannot see friends or family right now... I hope they remember this time as feeling cozy, happy, fun, and charmingly chaotic -- the fun kind from having five children and two parents in one house.

At the Table with Caroline

At the table with Caroline...

Caroline:  Can I have another piece of pizza?
Me: Sure
Caroline: I only want sausage.
Me: I’m sorry, we don’t have any sausage left. We have cheese.
Caroline: I only like sausage.
Me: Oh Sweetie you still have a big sausage on your plate that you can eat.
Caroline: I don’t like the sausage.

Hunter Nicholas -- Four Months

Hunter turned three months a few ago and what a month he's had.

Here Hunter is at four months

Here is Lee Lee at four months

Here is Caroline at four months

Here is Howard at four months

Here is Tracey at four months
Weight:
Despite the crazy pandemic and importance of social distancing, he did have his four month well-child check up and vaccinations and he weighed 13 pounds 9 ounces

Length:
Officially 24.5" inches long

Clothing size:
Well, 6-9 month clothing... with the occasional larger piece of clothing if I want him to wear something specific of Howard's that he hasn't grown into yet.

Eating:
Hunter loves milk but his feedings are nicely spaced now.  He gets several bottles of pumped breast milk while I'm at work and he seems to have adjusted to bottles well.  Now that we're all home full time, he's off bottles and back to nursing on demand.

Sleeping:
Hunter sleeps in a bassinet next to our bed.  He usually sleeps pretty well but the time change was a little rough... and then his four month vaccinations were a little rough... now who knows our schedule?
