Treasuring the Present: Romantic Movies with my Hubby

This past weekend, my wonderful hubby and I watched a Romantic Movie together.

We watch movies/television/the news together all the time -- sometimes too often, but its only every so often that we watch a romantic movie that neither of us have seen, that holds both of our attention, that we are both enjoying, and we spend the entire movie curled in each others' arms.  This past weekend, we watched a romantic movie, curled in each others' arms.

We watched the movie, The Vow.  I think this movie came out around Valentine's Day, but Chris and I rarely go see movies in the theater and even less during the school year, so we look forward to when movies are released for rental through redbox.  We were excited to learn the The Vow was available to rent.

The movie has the premise of a completely in-love, young, married couple faces a tremendous challenge when they are in a car accident and the woman loses her memory from the past several years.  When she awakes after the accident, she does not remember the past five or so years of her life -- when she wakes up, she thinks she is still a student and engaged to another man.  She doesn't know she's married, and she has no memory of her husband.  The movie is based on a true story... and it certainly did not progress the way I expected the story to, but it was a good movie.

It was the kind of romantic movie that, as my hubby and I watched, we couldn't keep our hands off each other.  We were holding hands, we were wrapped in each others' arms, we were rubbing each others' back, we had our heads on each others' shoulders, we full-out hugged each other during particularly romantic or heartbreaking parts of the movie...

It is so wonderful to fall in love with my hubby over and over again -- sometimes through life, sometimes through actions, sometimes through words, sometimes through smiles... and sometimes through a shared movie.

  1. I've heard a lot of people say that The Vow didn't go the way they thought it would! I haven't seen it yet but I might have to check it out!
