As long as I can remember my daddy and I would have a little call-and-reponse cheer...
Daddy: "When the going gets tough..."
Little Brookie: "... the tough get going!"
It took me many years after reciting it to figure out the exact meaning.
It's true -- When the going gets tough, the tough get going.
