Great-Grandpa

This past trip to St. Louis was our first time to St. Louis in one year.  Usually we go visit family twice a year -- every six months.  Usually we visit family in St. Louis every summer and every Christmas, but because of COVID this year, we did not visit St. Louis this past summer.

So, when we made the decision to go to St. Louis this Christmas, we desperately wanted to see as much family as possible, while being as responsible as possible regarding germs and potential Coronavirus exposure risks.

So, we had, what I feel like was possibly the quintessential 2020 experience by visiting the kiddos great grandfather by holding a sign up outside his window while he looked at all the children from the inside.

It was a surprise, and we learned that while he hadn't seen us in a year, he hadn't seen our local cousins in months either because of precautions regarding COVID.

It was COLD but our little troopers bundled up (for me, it was more impressive that the Missouri kids toughed it out... our Colorado kids play outside in all temps and I knew they would be fine), and played outside around Great-Grandpa's house for over an hour while Hubby visited with his grandfather.

Our visit meant so much to him.

Lord willing, we will be able to go back this summer and exercise less distance and less caution regarding germs and contact.
