We are not afraid to travel with our crew. We travel over 1000 miles by car at least twice a year regularly -- often more than twice a year and that doesn't include any side trips we take as a family.
That being said, for these long trips, we have made a habit of traveling at night.
The past two days were the first time ever we have driven 1000 miles with our four children over two days including a night in a hotel.
We made it and they really were little troopers. I was very proud of them -- and very grateful for our suburban where they can ride comfortably and watch movies.
Here are some pictures from the road...
I took this picture from google maps after we had been on the road for an hour, so the actual route was 9 hours 55 minutes for day 1.
First rest stop in Fruita, Colorado, 1 hour from home and the Vietnam War Memorial
Lunch in Salt Lake City, Utah at Chic-Fil-A
Dinner at the hotel in Boise Idaho
Route Day 2
Breakfast at Cracker Barrel
