We're Off

 We're off!

I have been working incredibly hard getting ready to move and thus have not taken the time to update the blog -- but we are officially off and we have begun our Adventure headed North to Alaska.

We hope to make the trip in 8 days with Hubby's parents driving our truck, which is pulling one trailer, and Hubby and I driving our suburban.  The kids and our cat will ride with us, and our black lab will ride with Memaw and Pepaw.

I am not sure how often I will blog while on the trip, but I am trying to chronicle the trip through videos on Instagram Stories, so if you follow instagram, you can find me @mountainmillers

Six crazies!

 Eight more work days and I am so excited to spend my summer with these six crazies!

Home

 I have been overwhelmed pretty much since Hubby accepted the job as principal 100 miles away from where we were living.  I mean, we had one day of celebration before the work began, but the mental load has been big... heavy for the past, well, seven months.

I still have a lot going on and a lot to accomplish headed in to Christmas.  We are BARELY settled in out home (and settled is a widely generous description), almost no Christmas decorations are up, I have so much work to accomplish at school (always work to accomplish at school), the end of graduate semester in the coming weeks, and all the Christmas activities I want to do -- Christmas cookies, Nativity pageant, Christmas cards, making family calendars, and so much more.

I have been overwhelmed and pretty much on the brink of tears for months.  I'm sorry to say it, but its true.  And that's not to say that I haven't been excited, and incredibly grateful to be here with these new jobs... its just been a lot.

But, can I just say, we are finally home, and I feel it.  I can rest in it.

I still have a ton to do... but I have a place to rest... really rest amidst the multitude of tasks.

I have a MILLION things to do, but my TO DO list does not make me cry anymore (at least at this moment)... I will do my best, and I will do my best in a place where my family has what it needs.

Mountain Miller Christmas Pageant 2020

 I feel acting out a Christmas Pageant is an important part of learning the story of the Nativity for children raised in the church and in a Christ-centered faith.  This year, due to COVID, there were no options for my children to participate in a pageant through a local church or organization...

Well, we have five children, and I have a little experience directing a past Christmas pageant, and my Hubby is tech-savvy... so we have spent these past few weeks putting on our own Christmas Pageant.

Second Day Fun

We have gone swimming twice a day the past two days and our little fish are loving it!

Lee Lee was too short for Pie in the Face but she really wanted to play... and when the hand popped up, the whipped cream flew unto her head.

Howard fell asleep about three minutes after this picture was taken and when I woke him up for dinner, he declined and quietly put himself to bed.
