Fun on the Mountain

Here are just a couple pictures for our very fun-filled 36 hours with our cousins in Park City this weekend.

Canned Green Beans

Lee Lee's preschool class made pilgrim stew leading up to Thanksgiving.  Everyone was supposed to bring in canned veggies to share in the stew.

I think Lee Lee was the only child to bring in homemade canned goods -- green beans grown in Great Aunt Patti's garden and canned with great love and prayers.

It was enjoyed by all in the preschool, and I thought of my Aunt all day.

Long Weekend, Long Trip

We just got home from a long trip over a long weekend.  We went 3150 miles in 5 days with our 6 kids.  Events included dinner with family in St. Louis, a day and dinner with family in Michigan, a wedding in Michigan, a family reunion and birthday fish fry in Michigan.

It feels good to be home.  And it will feel even better to sleep in a bed tonight instead of our suburban while Hubby drives cross country.

Here are a couple of favorite pictures:

More pictures and stories from the trip coming another day.

Ordinary and Special

I saw this quote a few days ago and saved it.  This summer, when so much is changing, and our family is moving from one lovely home to ... a lovely town (still working on the home), this quote has become incredibly real.

Platinum

I haven't shared much of what's going on here because when I get in bed at night, I'm ready to go to sleep.  I pick a quick, cute picture to share, get it posted and hit the hay.

Tonight is the same... I'm not going to go into the details of ALL we have happening right now, but we're juggling a lot.

That said, I do plan to take at least a minute today to remember my big sis, Tracey Lee because today marks the 20 year anniversary of the day she went to heaven.

I looked it up, and the 20th anniversary name is China and the modern gift associated with it is platinum.

I'm glad my sis is in a place where material things do not matter and have no value... but I also like the idea of her getting something special - maybe a piece of platinum jewelry marking the completion of her 20th year in paradise.

I miss you, Trace.

First Tournament

This past weekend, we took Howard to his first wrestling tournament and he had a great time... and WON his weight class.
