Bike To School Day!

 Bike to school day!

The kids and I biked 2.5 miles to school yesterday, which was a ton of fun.  It's a good thing the name is "bike to school" day and not "bike home from school" day, because we had several children hitch a ride with Daddy when it came to the up-hill trip home.

I even had to hand off the two littles riding in the bike carrier because decreasing the load by 50lbs made a world of difference as I pedaled up the hill to our house.

Singing in Church

Our kiddos sang in church over spring break and I'm not sure if I've shared the pictures yet.  So here they are.  Hopefully I'll get new pictures of life this weekend now that we have less sicklings.

Hogwarts Night!

The kids' school had a fundraiser last weekend where their school became the school from Harry Potter.  I'll be honest, it was a tad confusing for a family with absolutely no experience with Harry Potter... but it was entertaining and incredibly impressive... and now all our children want Harry Potter to be our next read-aloud bedtime story.

Here are some pictures:

Away In A Manager

Tracey had a music concert last night at school involving the 2nd and 3rd graders.  She was the ONLY student to sing a solo and she absolutely rocked it!

She told me after that she specifically asked to sing a solo because she wanted to get over her fear of singing in front of people.  We are so proud of her.

Secure and Comfortable

She now has her own room, she has a new bed.  A snowstorm is raging outside, and she is contentedly reading until bedtime.

I wish I could always make her feel as secure and comfortable as she feels right now.

Spirit Week

This past week was Spirit week our kiddos' Elementary School, which is so much fun in our house.  For as much as I DO NOT LIKE school picture day, I really like school spirit week.  We plan out our outfits for the week, and even our little ones who don't attend elementary school, and Mama and Daddy try to participate.  It is a fun break in the monotony.

In the case of this week, it was especially fun that it coincided with the first week of October.  The calendar changed and our children immediately gear up for Halloween -- and with Spirit week, they are able to start the month by dressing up a little even though Halloween isn't until the end of the month.

Monday was Pajama Day

Tuesday - Super Hero Day! (Howard had to stay home sick)

Wednesday - Wacky Clothes Day (Caroline had to stay home sick)

Thursday - Blue and Gold Day for the high school football team!

Go Bears!

School Picture Day

Me to Hubby as we rushed out the door this morning,

"Babe, we both need to accept that we are going to be late every single school picture day for the rest of our lives."

100 Days of School

Yesterday marked 100 days of school for Tracey... so she dressed like a 100 year old lady, and had to bring in 100 of the same item.

Well... with a family of 7, and a Mama who throws nothing away... she created a chain of 100 mismatched socks.

We were really proud of her hard work.

With her 100 year old lady outfit, she even wore a bandaid on her arm, and a sticker that read "I got my COVID shot!"
