Spring Change

I felt the need for a Spring change.

Hunter's Hair

All over the world are moms of little boys who dread the first haircut.  Many of them put it off for a LONG time -- sometimes years.  All over the world are mothers claiming that their son doesn't look like a little girl simply because the mother doesn't want to lose the baby hair of her baby boy.

I am not that mother.

I do not like long hair on my boys.  My definition of long hair, is still pretty short, but that's how I like it.  If I can put the hair in a tiny pony-tail, or use a barrette to get it out of your eyes, it is too long.

With COVID rules being what they are, babies have to sit in a barber chair by themselves -- they are not allowed to sit on their parent's lap.  So... I decided to cut Hunter's hair.

Here was a picture from the other night before I cut it -- he's a mess because we had just finished dinner and I decided to take advantage of his being in his high chair, and about to get a bath.

Here is after the hair cut.

Certainly not going to change careers, but I'm very happy his hair is shorter and I don't have to worry about another hair cut for a few months at least.

Lee Lee's First Haircut

I feel like we are checking things off the list left and right that I hoped to get done before the baby was born.  I really hit my turbo mode right around 36 weeks in fear that the baby could arrive that early (like the twins did).  Then, when the baby doesn't arrive for two, or three, or four more weeks, I'm able to relax a little more and get other projects accomplished.

Four children in church clothes, with fresh haircuts!

I wanted to get Howard, Tracey, and Caroline haircuts... and so Lee Lee got her first haircut over the weekend as well.  She's younger than any other child for her first haircut... but she also has more hair for her age than any of our other children.  And, her hair will probably be healthier for getting just a little trim.

And, we were able to get our three big kids their flu shot yesterday afternoon and they did so well!  The only reason Lee Lee didn't get hers was because the clinic where we got them didn't have the dosage for kiddos under age three.  So, she will get hers at her next doctor's appointment in a few weeks.

Four kiddos with fresh haircuts... and three with flu vaccines!
Lee Lee kept asking for hers.

Hair Ties

Now that we're regularly doing her hair in pigtails and pony tails... sometimes her hair takes awhile to go back to normal once the hair ties are removed.

Pigtails

Apparently pigtails are just about the cutest things on babies... somehow I did not know this, but luckily Tracey Ann has two aunts who clued me in.
