Hunter Nicholas -- Seven Months

Hunter turned seven months old about a week ago, which marks three months in quarantine -- recently downgraded from "Stay at Home" to "Safer at Home"... so we still haven't been many places, but markedly more than we did the previous two months.

Lee Lee at seven months

Caroline at seven months

Howard at seven months

Twins at seven months

Tracey at seven months

Weight:
15 pounds 9 ounces

Length:
26 inches long...

Clothing size:
Mostly wearing Nine and twelve month clothing with some room to wiggle.  Really, I just dress him for the weather -- on warm days, he wears summer clothes, and cooler days he wears layers.  I don't pay as much attention to the sizes as I do the temperature.

 Eating:
Well, this month we introduced Hunter a lot more food since he passed the six month mark.  He took some time to get the hang of food in his mouth, but then he was really getting the hang of it.  Some favorite foods include strawberries, blueberries, and grape pieces.  He also likes the baby puff stars and Gerbers fruit and veggie melts.
Sometimes he likes pasta and tomato sauce, chicken, cooked carrots, applesauce, peas, and pickles.
Unfortunately, this month we also learned Hunter seems to have some food allergies.
I was told at his six month check up to expose him to peanuts and peanut butter as soon as possible because studies are showing that when children are exposed to peanuts early on, they are less likely to have allergies to peanuts.  Well, on his second taste of peanut butter he developed hives all over his body -- head, neck, face, torso, arms, and legs.
A few days after he turned seven months, he had an allergic reaction to scrambled eggs... so we've been to the pediatrician's office and we have an appointment scheduled with a pediatric immunologist for comprehensive allergy testing.
This has not been fun, but we will be very grateful to get some answers through the allergy testing and learn his situation moving forward.

Sleeping:
Hunter sleeps and naps in his crib and gets up about once or twice a night to nurse.

New things/discoveries/accomplishments:

He's really good a sitting up

He lays on his back and pushes with his feet and can move quite a ways by doing that.  That problem is, he cannot see where he's headed and more than once, I have come back in a room after a moment away and found him pushing his little feet along our hard wood floor, and has has traveled a distance of four to eight feet and now his head is on its way under a chair or under our couch or under our bed.

He can walk in the walker forward and backward

He is really good at swinging himself in the hanging swing in our kitchen.  He is the first child that we can ever remember literally running his little legs forward and then picking up his feet to swing back.  It is adorable and he can swing himself pretty high -- super baby.

He's been mostly enjoying new foods -- even with allergic reactions, he's a happy boy.

First allergic reactions to food and first time getting Benadryl

We had him dedicated at church in a private ceremony with the Pastor

We actually left him with two baby-sitters while Hubby and I had our first date since quarantine and he did great -- had to adapted to getting bottled breastmilk again, but he handled it in stride.

  1. Hello! What a cute 7 month old! Glad to see you are surviving quarantine. Here in my area of Washington we recently moved to Phase 2. We have traveled across the state to visit our grandkids. Blessings to you and your family! Shirley
