Michigan to Colorado Part 1

We took four days to go from Michigan to Colorado, but I'm going to try to recount it in two posts if possible.

Instead of the drive around Lake Michigan through Chicago (the traffic from which we had our fill of during our weekend in Chicago), we ventured across Lake Michigan to Milwaukee via the Lake Express car ferry.

From there, we drove on to our hotel in South Dakota, through Minnesota, and crossed the state line so our kids could say they've been to Iowa.

I think the photo from the Iowa state line is on Hubby's phone, but this is Tracey holding a butterfly in front of Iowa corn, where we stopped to take the State line picture.

The next day, we ventured to the Corn Palace in South Dakota, Badlands National Park, and Wall Drug Store.

I think his tractor's sexy...

Looking for animals and having a snack in the car

Hello there, Big Horn sheep.

I asked Tracey if she was so serious because she saw and Indian, and she said,
"No, I am an Indian."

Everywhere we visited, we've let the kids get an engraved penny.  So this was was low enough that Lee Lee got to push the button.
