Hunter -- One Month

Hunter is one month old... or he was about a week ago.

Here he is at one month

And here he was as a newborn

And here is the comparison of all five kiddos at one month of age:
Top left to right - Hunter and Howard
Bottom left to right - Lee Lee, Tracey, Caroline

Weight:
Unofficially, my estimation is that he is about 10 pounds.

Length:
He is just too long for a few pairs of newborn pajamas.

Clothing size:
He can still wear a few items of clothing that are newborn sizes, but newborn onesies are too small.  HE wears 0-3 month sized onesies and mostly 0-3 month clothing.

Eating:
Hunter eats really well.  Sometimes he cluster feeds, and sometimes he'll go 2-3 hours between feedings.  Thankfully, after a rough first couple of weeks, his longest stretch between feeding is night time, which is wonderful.
Sleeping:
Hunter sleeps in a bassinet next to our bed.  He spent a few weeks in a dock-a-tot in our bed, but as he's slept more soundly and for longer stretches, I've been able to move him to the bassinet.  He's been there probably ten days or more.  He usually nurses for the last time around 10:30pm, and then he might wake up once between 1 and 3.  If I'm awake enough, I can nurse him and put him back in his bassinet -- if I'm exhausted, I just wake up in the morning sitting up in bed holding him, and I have no idea what time he woke up and how long I've been holding him.

New things/discoveries:
  • Hunter has had only new things for the past month as he's adjusted to life outside the womb.
  • First baths - both in a sink and very carefully with siblings in a big tub
  • First time at home
  • First Thanksgiving
  • First time meeting grandparents
  •  Being circumcized
  • He's using his eyes better and better -- he's just starting to make eye contact with us, and we're excited that a smile might be coming soon
