Help

How do you believe when you can't believe? How do you hope when you can't hope?

I'm not being hypothetical... seriously, how do you believe when you can't believe? How do you hope when you can't hope?

This is not about God. But people.

How do you believe when you can't believe?

How do you forgive seventy times seven and STILL believe?
I'm out. I am out of hope. I don't remember ever feeling this way before and I don't know what to do.

There is no rainbow of promise. There is no olive sprig in the fist of a dove.

How do you keep living, keep breathing, keep smiling, keep believing when hope is gone?

Help.

  1. That is a hard question. And one in which I don't think there is ever a right or wrong answer. I know for me personally this has long been the situation with my Dad. Of course at first I wanted to cut him out of my life. It just seemed to be the easy way to do things. But in the end he is my dad...and will always be. So one thing I ended up doing was having no expectations of him or from our relationship. I don't expect things from him...at all. I also let him take the initiative. If he wants to call, he must do it. I don't. I guess in the long run....I want his actions to speak louder than his words. Words are just words....it's easy to say them... actions...they speak of true intentions and from the heart much better than words can at times.

Praying for you Brooke. I know that is a really hard and at times a hopeless place to be.

    ((hugs))

  2. Praying for you Brooke... I hope you're okay. I don't know what is going on, but I just want to say (in answer to your post) that while we are called to forgive that many times... we are not told to put our faith and hope in people. They will fail. I don't know who hurt you or how - but you can forgive them and let them go and be totally in God's will. Of course, I am not saying that you should (because I don't know the situation). I hope that you get a fresh dose of hope very soon! Love you!

  3. The image you posted along with your thoughts today really struck a chord with me. I know what it's like to be in a place where there is no cherished desire with anticipation. And, it's not a fun place to be.

I'm praying that God gives you the hope you need. The HOPE in HIM -- the He is despite all other circumstances.

  4. I am praying for you friend. God is the only one that can bring hope from brokenness. Turn to HIM . He is there waiting for you. I have been in the deepest darkest pit that I thought I couldn't climb out of...it took realizing that I was not the one who was suppose to climb out. I was suppose to let God lift me out. I am praying.
    Blessings,
    Amy
