Smoke

This is fire season here on the Western Slope which means we don't have clouds, we have smoke.

Yesterday, by he evening, the entire outside smelled like a campfire.

This is a picture I snapped of Howard in our front yard in Spring 2018... and this is a cloudy day.  You can see the mesa very clearly... usually our skies are pure blue.

This is a picture I took at sunset last night -- you cannot even see the Mesa and that haze is not fog or clouds, it is all smoke from the Pine Gulch Fire currently burning over 25,000 acres.

Please pray for rain and for the 500 fire fighters working to contain the blaze.

This is just one of many fires burning throughout the west right now.

  1. Wow, that photo of the sun is amazing! We do have smoky summers here in Western Washington but not this summer. Well, not yet! Stay safe! Shirley
