Helpful

It is no secret that having five kids age six and under is a lot of work... but sometimes the way they help each other out makes it a lot easier on me.

Like yesterday, for example, when Lee Lee was having trouble riding her "big girl bike" which is a tricycle that requires actual pedaling.  She was having trouble moving her feet and steering the tricycle at the same time and I was having trouble helping her move and steer and hold the dog's leash, and push Hunter's stroller.

But, big sister Caroline was so excited to help Lee Lee ride her tricycle that she walked along side Lee Lee, pushing and steering her the entire way around the circle (which is 1/5 of a mile... so it's not a short walk).  She did so well helping Lee Lee get the hang of it, that Lee Lee pedaled the second lap almost entirely by herself... certainly she had stretches of doing it by herself.

I am so grateful for these children and for the loving relationships they are building with each other that I pray will last a lifetime.

Strong Genes

Hubby turns 40 in less than a month so I've been looking through some old pictures of him...

Turns out, there is a reason why I think Tracey look so much like her Aunt Becky.

When they were children, Chris and his younger sister looked SO much alike... and yes, Tracey strong resembles them both.

What do you think?

Lunch on a Skyscraper

I don't know the details of this picture, but someone posted it on facebook and it practically mesmerized me... I stared at these two photos for a long time.

I guess the ironworkers of Chicago in 2017 recreated the famous Lunch on a Skyscraper picture that was originally taken in New York City in 1932.

Both pictures are so incredibly impressive and my knees shake just thinking about being up that high eating lunch.

Happy Place

I took this picture a few weeks ago right after Tracey took a face plant riding her scooter.

That being said, this picture really demonstrates Tracey's happy place.

She LOVES cuddling with her baby brother... and he's getting to an age where he wants to explore more than he wants to be cuddled, but Tracey still tries like crazy to love on him and be as helpful as she can.

I'm so glad she loves being a big sister.

Never Happened

I tell you, this never happened when Tracey was a baby and I only had to focus on one child.

I was helping Tracey with her school work... and apparently Hunter was hungry... and he could reach the applesauce.
