Yesterday all of Hubby's immediate family (his parents, his brother and wife and their two children, his sister and husband and their four children plus nanny, and the six Mountain Millers) did the sojourn from St. Louis to Branson, MO for the start of a four night family vacation.
Our crew stopped in Springfield for lunch at Lambert's Cafe, home of the "throwed rolls". Hubby has taken me to Lambert's a few times before we had children, but this was the first time for our little ones.
They literally throw hot dinner rolls across the restaurant as a way of passing them out to those eating. Howard was in heaven! The girls loved it too, but not as much as Howard did.
Good food. Fun time.
In Branson, each couple took a night to provide dinner. I went ahead and volunteered for Monday night, the night we arrived. I made Chili ahead of time and reheated it in two crockpots for people to eat whenever was convenient with the unpacking going on. We settled in and even let some of the older kids swim after dinner.
Here's hoping for a great week full of memories.
