Different Challenges

I'm sharing this video for fun and to remember this stage of life.

I normally workout at about 4:15am... and this is why.  Yesterday, I let myself sleep in, and I did my workout mid-morning but it certainly had different challenges than a 4am workout does.

Mom Fail

A few mornings ago, I made the kids scrambled eggs and we had little cubes of ham that were supposed to be used in salads, but they needed to be used, so I cut them up a little more and added them to the scrambled eggs.  My kids LOVED this breakfast, and I was tickled by the fact that they were eating eggs and ham.

So a few mornings later, I made eggs and ham again, but added a little green food coloring to it.  I was so excited to serve them green eggs and ham for breakfast... but there was one oversight on my part.

Apparently we've never read the book Green Eggs and Ham to our kids.  We don't even own it.

So, these pictures were taken of Tracey as she was running away from the table, crying, and (literally) saying, "I DO NOT LIKE GREEN EGGS AND HAM!"

 

Evening Parade

Sunday night, I let the kids go outside later than normal to run off some energy before bedtime.  The temperature was dropping from the afternoon heat, so it was delightful weather for our kids to be out front riding bikes.  It didn't take long for our four neighbor kids to join the fun, which led to a (short) seven-child evening bike ride.

The cul de sac where we rode had never seen such excitement -- several retirees asked us if it was already Halloween.  A few others sort of smiled shook their head before returning to their home, (probably with a new appreciation for their peace an quiet), and most laughed and waved at our joy-filled children.

School Picture Day

Our kiddos had school picture day last week and I am excited to see if the school photographer got some good pictures for them.

That being said, they all looked so good leaving for school, that I had to take my own pictures.

Both Tracey and Caroline wanted curly hair for their pictures which was exciting for me because Tracey usually wants curly hair until she lays down in bed, and then she pulls the curlers out.  That night, she was excited about curlers and it lasted the whole night (and she requested curlers again the next night!).

 

Caroline wanted curlers because Tracey had curlers, and her hair was long enough to have some for the first time.

Howard wanted curlers too, but settled for getting some hair gel in his hair like Daddy wears, which was adorable.  It was his first time wearing hear gel.

What an awesome group of kiddos we have. 

 

Handsome Hubby!

I have a new favorite picture of my handsome Hubby.

I'm not sure if I should give you context or just let you enjoy the picture.  But, so I remember why he was dressed this way in future years -- he is wearing his middle school colors for spirit day including a birthday present from his sister and her family -- a winter hat that also keeps your beard warm.

This is a delayed post, but I did take 10 photos (or more) on the 10th of September.

Afternoon outside snack

We Escaped!

We escaped!

For Hubby's birthday, we met some friends at the Glenwood Escape Room and we escaped.  We had to solve puzzles and find clues and we had 1 hour to escape from a room.  We did it with 12:47 to spare.

After the escape room, we went to dinner and it was such a great night!

Four Under Five

This is officially one of the best pictures we could get of Hubby with all four kids.

It took about 8 pictures to get Tracey to give a nice smile... and by then, Howard was clearly over the picture taking process.  Caroline meanwhile was hugging Addallee harder and hard with every picture.

These are the best years.  Our kids are awesome.
