Okay... horrible mother award goes to me because Addallee turned seven months almost three weeks ago and is a heartbeat away from turning eight months and I am only now writing her growth post.
Unfortunately, I misplaced my month stickers -- I only have three sets from the three older kids, so I couldn't get the seven month picture, which delayed this growth post. I still have not found the growth stickers but I don't want to put this off any longer because she is growing and changing every day.
Here is Addallee at seven months:
Here she is at four months...
and one month...
and as a sweet newborn.
And here was Howard and Caroline at seven months:
And here was Tracey at seven months:
Weight:
At her six month check up, which we had two weeks after she turned 6 months, she weighed 16 pounds 7 ounces.
Here's a fun fact, she was our largest baby at birth (7 pounds 7 ounces -- all others were 6 pounds and change) and she gained the least amount of weight in six months than any of my other kids. She's on the "Mama is busy so eat what you can when you can" diet. Our girls both weighed about 16-and-a-half ponds at six months, and Howard was a hulk who weighed in at 18 pounds 5 ounces.
Length:
At her appointment she was 25.5 cm, which puts her in the 21st percentile.
Clothing size:
She's wearing all the six month summer clothes that her older sisters wore because they were both six months of age over the summer. Some nine month sleepers and onesies but she's doing fine in the six month summer clothes.
Eating:
She got her first taste of solid foods this month and LOVES them. She's started out on a banana and melon, but now eats EVERYTHING! She's had food from all parts of the pyramid -- meats, veggies, fruits, dairy, and carbs and she is an excellent eater. Hubby has also commented, she seems to be the cleanest baby eater we've ever had. Some of her favorite foods seem to be pasta, salmon, strawberries, applesauce, greek yogurt, and veggies.
Sleeping:
She is all night every night in her own crib in the nursery and sleeps very well. She usually goes down about 8:00pm and might wake up around 2am, but sometimes makes it until 4am. She'll nurse and then sleep until 7 or 8 depending on if we can let her just sleep or if we have to be up and out the door somewhere.
New things/discoveries:
- She can sit up
- She rolls all over the place -- you set her down on her tummy, and she just tumbles across the floor like an acrobat
- She loves solid foods
- She can push back when she's on her tummy... so she scoots in reverse
New Accomplishments:
- She is loves to be on her tummy and rolls and pushes herself all over the floor.
- She can sit up most of the time, and when she does fall, its usually a graceful fall onto her tummy. I seem to remember our other children frequently did face plants from the sitting position, but Addallee usually just leans from sitting down to tummy pretty seamlessly
- Sitting in her high chair and picking up her food to eat
Likes:
- Attention
- Being around any activity
- Exersaucer
- Pacifiers
- Nursing
- Her siblings
- Baths with her siblings
- Toys with buttons that sing songs
- Mama -- she's become quite a Mama's girl these days
Dislikes:
- Skipping solid food at meals
- Being cold
- To a work conference with Mama
- To Colorado Springs to tour the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind with Mama and a prospective student
- To the Mother's Day Tea at the big kids' school

- The Rifle Carnival where it poured rain on us
