Christmas 2010: Sanden Family

Chris and I had an awesome, albeit, whirl-wind trip to Michigan to celebrate Christmas with my family and begin ... ... WEDDING PLANS!

Here we are after church on the day after Christmas. This is our new family!
Chris and I headed next door to see the newest member of their family - Baby Reagan.
Here is Reagan and her Daddy. Here's Reagan's mom, big brother and grandpa
We borrowed these cute kids for a picture...
foreshadowing perhaps? (LOL - just kidding, we'll see what the Lord brings)
We told my extended "family" (not blood related, but have been family my whole life) that we were engaged by giving my Aunt and Grandma a framed picture of Chris and me on the mountain in our ski gear with the ring (the close up shot from this post). They immediately understood what we were saying!
Everyone crowded around to see my ring!
A toast to celebrate our engagement -- in the same glasses my sister and her husband used at their wedding in 1988.
"Cousins"
My beautiful "second-cousins"
This little gal really liked Lexie... but Lexie wasn't too sure about her. In this picture she's trying to coax Lexie out from behind the tree.
The whole extended family - Grandma, Aunt, Uncle, and cousins! In cannot emphasize how close this family is to my parents and me -- I am going to have this Grandma seated during the "Seating of the Grandmothers" at our wedding.
Some Christmas presents for the younger ones.
Megan loved her necklace, the proceeds of which went to help fund an overseas adoption.
Mom is saying "Thank you" for a beautiful ornament.
What a beautiful girl!
Chris will be a blessed addition to our family!
Cat ornament and baseball ornament from Mom!
We were up SOOO late finishing presents -- practice for when we have kiddos!

Christmas 2010: Miller Family

Chris and I spent time over break with the Miller family -- my new family!
Chris and his sister. Becky was on-call for most of our trip, so we went to see her at the hospital a few times.
Missouri mailbox
We had lunch with my former professor and his family. This is his little girl waving good-bye to us.
Chris and I attended a Christmas party thrown by some of his high school friends. Many people played garage band...
Chris was quite the rock star.
Nick, Becky and Chris -- the Miller siblings
We liked this Christmas tree at Rural King.
Cannoli Kit = Family Fun!
Yum!

Santa found us in Missouri
We gave Mrs. Miller (my Mom-to-be) a Dyson vacuum cleaner, but I wanted to disguise the box -- so I added corners and edges to it to try to fool her. In this picture, she doesn't look too sure about this triangular box.
Chris, Becky, Jazz (the dog) and me - post present time
Jazz and Daniel (Becky's husband) looking cute.
We went for a snowy run on Christmas Eve morning. Isn't Chris just the handsomest!!! I think so!
The manger is ready for the Baby Jesus!

Then we left for Michigan...

Christmas 2010: Branson

Thank you for all the best wishes and congratulations on Chris and my engagement. We are SOOO happy -- and BUSY as we're not trying to plan a wedding long-distance (as it will be in Michigan).

Also, my bride-to-be diet and exercise regiment has begun...

More about wedding planning and dieting details later. Below is a short post about part of our Christmas travels.

Chris and I spent a few days in Branson post-engagement but pre-family time.
We did... NOT see Andy Williams in concert, but I sure wanted to. Word to the wise: if you want to see a Branson Christmas show, go to Branson in November. Basically every performer in town packs up and goes home starting December 10 -- so if you go to Branson the week before Christmas there are limited entertainment options. There is a musical/fire/water fountain...And there are Chinese Acrobats, who do not go home in December like everyone else.Chris was justifiably scared of the Kung-Fu guy.
